Force India has announced that it will race in a revised pink, magenta and silver livery for the 2017 Formula 1 season after signing a partnership agreement with water technology company BWT.

Force India launched the VJM10 in its traditional black, orange and silver colours ahead of pre-season testing in Barcelona, where race drivers Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon both enjoyed extensive running behind the wheel.

A switch to a pink livery had been rumoured for 2017, but the news was made official on Tuesday when Force India announced the partnership with BWT.

"The VJM10 will race in pink, magenta and silver to mark the beginning of a long-term relationship with the Austrian-headquartered water brand," Force India confirmed in a statement. "The new colours will make their debut at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne."

"The arrival of BWT in Formula One is huge news and represents one of the most significant partnerships in our ten year history," Force India owner Vijay Mallya said.

"It's a sign of how far we have come as a team with our strong results and completes a solid commercial performance over the winter. For 2017 our cars will sport a vibrant new colour scheme with a smart matte finish. Changing the colour of our cars is an indication of the strength of this new partnership and a real statement of intent from BWT as they begin their relationship with the sport of Formula One."

Though new to F1, BWT has become a recognisable sponsor in motorsport, most notably sponsoring a Mercedes C-Coupe in the DTM, where Ocon competed before stepping up to F1.
