Schuy Anticipates "great Future" With Bridgestone
Michael Schumacher emerged from his first F1 test on Bridgestone tyres confident that the partnership would bring great rewards.
The German was speaking after recording the second best time of the first all-Bridgestone test at Suzuka, and claimed that he was impressed with the prototype 1999 tyres.
(To be honest, I was a little apprehensive about it,) admitted the 1998 runner-up, (because I remember the disappointment I felt last winter when we first tested the '98 pattern grooved tyres but, after this first day my impressions are quite positive.)

(Naturally, it has been necessary for Bridgestone to make the front tyres with a hard rubber compound, but this time I can really feel that the difference between three and four grooves isn't so great.)
Schumacher was also positive about the future on Bridgestone tyres, despite acknowledging that it will take time to adapt to Ferrari's latest F1 partner. The German also hinted that his previous contact with Bridgestone would help to smooth the transition.
(It is not going to be hard for me to work with Bridgestone,) Schumacher admitted, (because I already have a long and fruitful relationship with the company, going all the way back to my karting days, and to the F3000 race I did at Sugo, here in Japan, in 1991. I am now looking forward to a great future together in Formula One.)
