Hill joins Audi network.

1996 Formula One World Champion Damon Hill has formed a direct association with German luxury car manufacturer Audi, by acquiring the Bristol and Exeter dealerships in the UK.

"This is a great opportunity for our team to show what we can do for Audi and their customers," said the former Brabham, Williams, Arrows and Jordan driver of his new business venture. "The parallels between the retail automotive industry and Formula One are perhaps not that obvious, but the market is as intensely competitive and success is linked closely to teamwork and a strong desire to be the best.

"Investing in our people, building a winning spirit and offering the very best products and service are at the heart of our approach. It is our aim to make Bristol and Exeter two of Audi's flagship dealerships," claimed the Brit, who counts the marque's TT Coupe Quattro as his personal favourite.

Hill is not the only high profile Audi admirer from the motorsport world: Former British Grand Prix winner Johnny Herbert has an A6, while four fellow former Le Mans 24 Hour race winners, Guy Smith (TT), Andy Wallace (A3), Allan McNish (RS 4) and Mark Blundell (allroad), have also been enticed.

ITV's Formula One pit-lane reporter Louis Goodman owns a TT, while experienced single-seater and sportscar drivers David Brabham (allroad) and Perry McCarthy (S8) - both Crash.net contributors - are also Audi owners.
