BAR-Honda driver Takuma Sato set the pace today [Monday] at wet Jerez.

Taku completed 51 laps in total, his best a 1 minute 25.938 seconds, around four tenths up on Felipe Massa, who was second.

Massa spent the day tyre testing, however unlike last week, he was running with the Sauber-Petronas C23 - as opposed to the Ferrari F2003-GA. The Brazilian who tested for the Scuderia this year, will return to racing in 2004, when he re-joins Peter Sauber's Swiss squad. This was his first test with the team, since confirmation back in October, that he would join Sauber next season.

Luca Badoer meanwhile was third for Ferrari, the Italian completing just 12 laps in the F2003-GA due to the adverse weather conditions, with occasional rain arriving from the end of the morning onwards.

Anthony Davidson was the only other runner on track, his best a 1m 26.748s.

Testing continues at Jerez tomorrow [Tuesday].
