New Ferrari breaks Fiorano lap record again!

Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro concluded their first test with the new F2004 yesterday [Sunday], by once again breaking the lap record.

Michael Schumacher was in action for the third day running, and in ideal conditions, under clear skies, he broke the 56 second barrier, his best effort, a 55.999secs.

During the course of the day, the German covered a total of 115 laps, 18 of which were on the short course.

"I am satisified with this first session," declared Michael at the end of the day. "I immediately got a positive feel from the car, but the most important thing is that we managed to cover about 700 kilometres without the slightest problem."

The Scuderia will resume testing today [Monday], when test driver Luca Badoer will be at the wheel of an F2003-GA in Barcelona.
