Entries boom for GP support race.

A full grid is expected for the new F3 International Invitation Challenge at Silverstone this season to support the Foster's British Grand Prix.

The non-championship race, organised by Octagon Motorsports, the MSA and the Formula Three Association (FOTA) will boast the cream of the British Championship runners along with drivers from the German series and some interesting newcomers.

Current British championship leader Takuma Sato heads the entry with Carlin Motorsport team-mate Anthony Davidson whilst the three Manor Motorsport cars of Derek Hayes, Jeffrey Jones and Mark Taylor will take on the Jaguar F3 Racing pair of Andre Lotterer and James Courtney.

Davidson won the coveted Pau Grand Prix earlier this season and the winner of last year?s BRDC McLaren Autosport Young Driver of the Year Award will be keen to add another major win to his CV

Drivers are as yet unconfirmed for the two RC Motorsport cars, but Team Avanti will field Adam Carroll alongside Matt Davies, Carroll graduating from Formula Ford. Former Team Avanti driver Milos Pavlovic will move to Fortec Renault for the event.

The German GM Motorsport team will field two cars for Tony Schmidt and Hannes Lachinger, whilst drivers from 12 nationalities will be represented offering a more international line-up than in the British GP.

The National Class (for Scholarship Class cars from the UK series) is headed by Robbie Kerr and Michael Keohane, with Matthew Gilmore and Robert Doornbos in the contest as well. Motaworld Racing will field Tom Sisley whilst Diamond Racing has a third car for a driver yet to be nominated.

Qualifying for the race is at 15:30 hrs on Friday, July 13th, with the race starting at 11 am on Sunday July 15th.
