Ralt Engineering has sold a Formula Three 3 car to Piquet Racing following two successful tests in Brazil at the end of last year. Nelsinho Piquet, son of former World Champion Nelson Piquet, covered nearly 2,000 kilometres in the car without encountering any significant problems.

"We were delighted when Nelson told us in December, while we were still in Brazil, that Piquet Sports wanted to buy the car from us," said Ralt boss Steve Ward. "The team is running Nelsinho in the British series this year, but I understand will not make a decision on which car to run until evaluating our opposition. Apart from this, there is some interest from a couple of other teams who have been watching our car's progress over the past 12 months."

Having developed its 2002 chassis after testing feedback from drivers such as Andy Priaulx, Ralt is currently working on updates to the chassis following work done in the MIRA wind tunnel.

"The F302 was a car we knew could have been successful in the right hands last year. We are confident the F303 will be even better and hope to have all the new parts ready to test here in the UK soon," commented Ward.
