Piquet Jr to drive father's 1978 F3 car.

In celebration of his historic win at Knockhill last Sunday in the 2003 British F3 Championship gripped by Avon Tyres, Nelson Piquet Jnr. will line up on the Silverstone grid at around 12 noon on Monday 26 May to take to the Grand Prix track in his fathers 1978 Championship winning Ralt RT1 Formula 3 car.

Nelson Jnr will complete a number of demonstration laps for the spectators, photographers and television cameras.

Owner and current driver of the classic F3 car, Francis Gomm was delighted when he heard of the idea. "I'll be racing it in the classic series on the Sunday at Mallory," said Francis, "but I'll make sure its still in one piece for the Monday. I'm not going to miss this opportunity."

The car, in its original specification, colour and sponsor logos, will also be photographed on the day together with its original driver Nelson Piquet Snr.
