The organisers of the British F3 International Series have announced that Lloyds TSB Insurance will be the title sponsor for the championship in 2006.

The organisers of the British F3 International Series have announced that Lloyds TSB Insurance will be the title sponsor for the championship in 2006.

Whether or not it is a one-year deal was not confirmed, however it can be assumed if Lloyds TSB find the association beneficial it could well continue beyond this year and into 2007.

"We are extremely pleased to welcome Lloyds TSB Insurance as the title sponsor for the British Formula 3 International Series," said SRO chairman Stephane Ratel. "To have a household name as the title sponsor is a major coup for the series and will help promote the original and dynamic qualities of the British Formula 3 Series to a much wider audience.

"Lloyds TSB Insurance has agreed to promote the race series through a number of innovative marketing campaigns. In return we will promote Lloyds TSB Insurance at the 11 race weekends across the UK and Europe and on the dedicated Channel 4 and Motors TV television coverage."

"This is a very exciting tie-up for Lloyds TSB Insurance," added Lloyds TSB senior marketing manager, Gary Hurry. "We've already secured the main sponsorship rights to the 2006 British International Motor Show, and with the prestigious F3 International series now also in our portfolio, we're delighted to have a further opportunity to strengthen our association with the motor market."

The 2006 Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 International Series kicks off next weekend at Oulton Park. The 22 race series, which will feature 21 drivers representing 13 countries from 4 continents - Europe, Asia, Africa and South America - will visit Italy, France, Belgium, Ireland as well as the major circuits in the UK.
