Formula E will conclude its heavily-disrupted 2019-20 season with an unprecedented run of six races in eight days in August.

Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit will play host to all six rounds, which will comprise a trio of separate double-header events on three alternative configurations of the circuit.

The 2019-20 season was suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic in March, with five rounds having been completed.

Following a four-month hiatus, the campaign will resume in Berlin with the opening double-header scheduled for a midweek slot on August 5-6.

The second event will be held on the weekend of August 8-9, before the season concludes with a final double-header across August 12-13.

All six races will take place behind closed doors, with Formula E and the FIA planning to implement a number of strict safety measures to protect its staff and the competitors.

A maximum number of 1,000 people will be permitted on site at any given time, as per German government guidelines, with other operations carried out remotely.

Formula E personnel will be tested for coronavirus prior to the races and face on-site screening tests every day upon their arrival to the track. The use of face masks and social distancing measures will also be enforced.

"Since taking action to suspend our season in March, we have emphasised a revised calendar which places the health and safety of our community first, represents Formula E’s distinct brand of city-centre racing and offers an exciting conclusion to the compelling season of racing we had seen so far,” Formula E CEO Jamie Reigle said.

“We’re heading to Berlin Tempelhof, a venue that our teams, drivers and fans love, to stage a nine-day festival of racing with three back-to-back double-headers.

"The festival will feature three track layouts, presenting a new challenge and creating the conditions for an unpredictable and drama-filled climax to our season.

“The team at Formula E has been working incredibly hard over the past weeks to enable us to go racing again in Berlin.

“I’d like to thank the FIA, our manufacturers, teams and partners for their continued support, the city of Berlin for their cooperation and flexibility and our fans for their patience."

In total, 11 events will now form the 2019-20 Formula E calendar, with DS Techeetah’s Antonio Felix da Costa holding an 11-point lead over Jaguar’s Mitch Evans heading into the six-race season finale.
