Bruce Ashmore has been elevated to the rank of president of American operations, as Reynard Motorsport reviews its management structure.

The company, which remains the biggest constructor in the CART series despite Lolas revival, has also appointed sales director Mark Smithson to managing director of UK operation, as it seeks to streamline its business in both key markets.

Weve been closely reviewing our management structure over the last few months, explained founder Adrian Reynard, and identified the need for more defined reporting and strengthening within the team. These two appointments reflect this.

One of the most important factors in any company is its people and, while I continue to lead Reynard with a strategic overview for its future, Mark and Bruce will head up the day-to-day operations of our numerous businesses.

Ashmores remit also covers the recently-acquired Riley & Scott operation and Reynards American wind tunnel facilities.
