The concert will be the finale of a busy day at the legendary 2.5-mile oval. Carb Day begins with final practice for the Indianapolis 500 starting field and will see pride and a pay-day on the line for Indy Racing League teams competing in the annual Coors Indy 500 Pit-Stop Challenge.

Final practice for the 33 drivers and teams set to compete in 'The Greatest Spectacle in Racing' gets underway at 1100hrs (EST), and is arguably the most critical of the month, as drivers and teams get a feel for race-like conditions with 33 cars on the track.
Final practice for the 86th Indianapolis 500 concludes at 1300hrs (EST).

Thirty minutes after the chequered flag falls on practice, twelve Indy Racing League teams will vie for the title of "fastest pit crew at Indy" with the Coors Indy 500 Pit-Stop Challenge.

In each round of the event, teams will change all four tyres on the car, while making a simulated fuel hose connection to the fuel tank for a minimum of five seconds. The fastest team in each pairing will advance until the top two teams meet in the final round. Pairings will be determined by a blind draw. The winning team will earn $42,500 of the $80,000 Coors Indy 500 Pit-Stop Challenge purse, with $5,000 of the winner's share donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Indiana Chapter, in the name of the team.

Co-headlining the Coors Carb Day Concert will be Beyond Music recording artists Better Than Ezra and Sony/550 Music recording artists Nine Days. The concert is scheduled for 1530hrs (EST) at the Pepsi Stage, located in the Pagoda Plaza behind the 13-story Bombardier Pagoda control tower.

Nine Days produced the hit singles Absolutely (Story of a Girl) and If I Am with their major-label debut album The Madding Crowd. The Long Island-based band recently recorded its sophomore effort, which has yet to be titled.

Better Than Ezra has cut five nationally-released albums dating back to 1990's Surprise, and produced hit singles such as Good, In the Blood and 1996's Desperately Wanting off the Friction, Baby album. The band's most recent album, Closer, hit stores in August 2001 and includes the hit single Extra Ordinary, which has received regular airplay internationally.

Tickets for Coors Carb Day are $10 at the gate, with children aged five and younger admitted free. All activities for the day are included in the ticket price.
