Redon cleared for Texas.

Frenchman Laurent Redon has been cleared to drive in Saturday's Boomtown 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway just over a week after his crash in the final stages of the Indianapolis 500.

Indy Racing League rookie Redon has been cleared to drive in the Boomtown 500 on June 8th at Texas Motor Speedway, said Dr. Henry Bock, Indy Racing League director of medical services. All drivers who suffer a concussion or lose consciousness in an accident are prohibited from driving for at least one week according to the IRL rulebook.

Redon, from Chamond, France, was released from Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis the day after the Indy 500 after suffering a concussion in an accident with Buddy Lazier in Turn 2 on Lap 199 of the 86th running of the Memorial Day classic.

Mi-Jack Conquest Racing fields the No. 34 Mi-Jack Dallara-Infiniti for Redon, who leads the Bombardier Rookie of the Year standings with 89 points. In only his second career IRL start the former Formula 3000 regular finished 11th at Texas last October with the Eric Bachelart owned team.
