Green named director of PR for IMS.

Ron Green, who has served as director of media relations for the Indy Racing League since 1999, will become the director of public relations for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway effective Dec. 1.

"His excellent work in the Indy Racing League, coupled with his wide racing experience, prepare him well for this new challenge."

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway plays host annually to three premier world racing events: The Indianapolis 500-Mile Race, the Brickyard 400 and the United States Grand Prix.

"We are pleased to have Ron joining our team and helping with our three races, each of which are truly world-class events," said Joie Chitwood, senior vice president for business affairs for IMS.

Since joining the IMS family at the Indy Racing League, Green has been responsible for directing a staff of five full-time professionals who handle media and public relations for the Indy Racing League and the Infiniti Pro Series.

He came to IRL from the Charlotte Motor Speedway where he was director of public relations for three years. He also has served as director of public relations for Indianapolis Raceway Park, communications assistant at the United States Auto Club, information specialist for the Indiana House of Representatives and Midwest reporter and staff assistant for National Speed Sport News.

He is a 1987 graduate of Ball State University with a journalism degree. He and his wife, Paige, live in Indianapolis.
