Mexican Rodolfo Lavin has been signed to drive for Walker Racing in 2003 with sponsorship from the Corona brewing company.

After five years in the now-defunct Dayton Indy Lights Championship and two seasons of competition in the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship with Michael Shank Racing, 25 year-old Mexican Rodolfo Lavin looks set to make the step up to CART with Derrick Walker.

Bringing his Corona sponsorship with him from the Toyota Atlantic Series, Lavin will join fellow Mexican and CART rookie Roberto Gonzales in Walker's expanded two-car squad.

Like his new teammate, Lavin's lower formula record doesn't shine out with a pair of fifth place finishes the highlight from his Dayton Lights career. In 2002 Lavin finished a creditable seventh in a talent-packed Toyota Atlantic Championship with a second place finish at Milwaukee the pick of his results.

Lavin's graduation through the CART ladder system brings the number of Mexican's signed up for the 2003 BPTCCWSPBF to five.
