After five years in the now-defunct Dayton Indy Lights Championship and two seasons of competition in the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship with Michael Shank Racing, 25 year-old Mexican Rodolfo Lavin looks set to make the step up to CART with Derrick Walker.

Bringing his Corona sponsorship with him from the Toyota Atlantic Series, Lavin will join fellow Mexican and CART rookie Roberto Gonzales in Walker's expanded two-car squad.

Lavin's graduation through the CART ladder system brings the number of Mexican's signed up for the 2003 BPTCCWSPBF to five.
