Global Athletic Brand PUMA has continued to expand its rapidly increasing Motorsports portfolio by signing a deal to supply leading American based outfit Team Rahal with footwear for their Champ Car, Indy Racing League and Toyota Atlantic teams.

In addition to partnering with no less than five Formula One teams (Jordan, Minardi, Sauber, Jaguar, and Toyota), the World Rally Championship (WRC), the factory Ford Rallye Sport WRC team, and the Porsche Michelin Supercup, PUMA have now landed in the key North American market with one of its most well known names.

Team Rahal will receive fireproof racing footwear for its drivers and pit crews for competition in the Champ Car World Series, the Indy Racing League's IndyCar Series and CART's Toyota Atlantic Championship.

"It is a pleasure for PUMA to be linked with Team Rahal, one if the most professional and well established teams in open wheel auto racing in the United States," says Martin G?nsler, Vice-Chairman of PUMA. "I was truly impressed to see Bobby Rahal make such a smooth transition from one of the best drivers in open wheel history to successful team owner. Bobby's passion for pure motorsport is evident every time he runs a car on the track. This cooperation with Team Rahal is particularly attractive to us at this time, due to their entries in the three leading open-wheel series in North America."

"We are pleased to join in this partnership with PUMA for the upcoming season," said three-time CART champion and 1986 Indianapolis 500 winner Rahal. "PUMA has established a reputation as one of the leading footwear and athletic apparel companies in the world. They are leaders in their industry who strive to excel at every venture. These are the kind of like-minded partners that we seek here at Team Rahal."
