Hemelgarn forced to withdraw from Homestead.

Hemelgarn Racing were forced to withdraw their #91 Dallara-Chevrolet from the 2003 IRL season-opener at Homestead on the eve of first practice when some of the necessary parts failed to arrive in time.

Trying to prepare their new Dallara-Chevrolet for the flat 1.5-mile oval in less than a week was always going to be a mountainous task for the 2000 Series Champions and despite a truly valiant effort, the team couldn't get some of the necessary engine and suspension parts together in time to compete.

The team, which lost its primary Coors sponsorship at the end of last season, has some associate sponsorship deals and will now attempt to make their debut at Phoenix for round two of the series.
