NASCAR backer Stacker 2 has revealed that it will expand its motorsport involvement by becoming an associate sponsor of Al Unser Jr's #20 Patrick Motorsports entry from this weekend's Indianapolis 500 onwards.

Parent company NVE Pharmaceuticals has become a familiar participant in racing as the primary sponsor of Kenny Wallace's #23 Busch Series Chevrolet, and also sponsors the Xtreme Dirt Car Series and driver Jimmy Mars and David Troutman Jr in the Northern Xtreme Dirt Car Series all with the Stacker 2 brand. The addition of Unser's IndyCar to the roster marks its first foray into single-seaters and the IRL.

"I am really excited about the newest addition to the Stacker 2 Motorsports family," admitted vice-president of retail marketing Bob Emilian, "We are really excited about being a part of such a winning tradition with 'Little Al' and the entire Patrick Motorsports team."

The sponsorship began during Pole Day for the 88th Indianapolis 500 and will continue throughout the 2004 IndyCar season.

"We are pleased that Stacker 2 has decided to expand its involvement in motorsports by choosing to become an associate sponsor for our team," Patrick Racing owner 'Pat' Patrick said, "Stacker 2 is a quality company with experience in racing sponsorship. We look forward to their involvement for the 2004 IRL season and, hopefully, for many years to come."
