Herdez crewmen killed in crash.

Shortly before Christmas the Herdez Competition team was struck by tragedy when two of its key crew members were killed in an automobile accident whilst returning from the Mexican International Auto Show.

Kenny Ferris and Vitor Pinto were both killed three days before Christmas during a snowstorm in Arkansas as they transported a Herdez sponsored Champ Car display car back from the Mexican Auto Show.

Ferris joined Herdez when they expanded to a two car operation in 2003 and brought vast experience from his days working with the Lotus F1 team, the Intersport Racing sportscar outfit and several other Champ Car outfits.

Pinto, who also had Formula One experience, was a former crew member of the Menards Indy Racing League team and the entire HVM team wants to extend its deepest sympathy to the family and friends of both men.
