FA: PR1 to offer test for Pacific F2000 champ.

The Miracle Sealants Company and Champ Car Atlantic operation PR1 Motorsports have announced that they will host a special post-season test for the champion of the 2007 Pacific F2000 series.

In its third season in the Champ Car feeder series, F2000 graduate PR1 has already established itself as a frontrunning squad, with Jonathan Bomarito taking race wins and regular podiums. Now, with the help of primary sponsor Miracle Sealants, the team has agreed to provide a one-day test session in one of its Atlantic cars for this F2000 champion, who will have emerged from possibly the strongest field yet assembled in the class.

"Prior to the start of the 2007 season, PR1 Motorsports advised us that it was creating this unique testing programme for the Pacific F2000 champion," Atlantic series MD Vicki O'Connor revealed, "We're happy that PR1 is able to bring this concept to reality later this year, as it is truly a great opportunity for a promising young racer to get a chance to test with one of the premier Atlantic teams."

The test will take place at California's Buttonwillow Raceway Park after completion of the twelve-race Pacific F2000 season, which concludes in the middle of October at Las Vegas. Further details on the test will be released later this summer.

"The Pacific F2000 series was created specifically to create an environment where young drivers can race among the best of their peers using a more modest budget that allows for both testing and racing," said series founder Les Phillips, "This support for our series champion is clearly one of our greatest driver motivators. A fully-supported test day in the most modern of cars with a top team is probably our greatest year-end award."

PR1 continues to field a team in the Pacific F2000 championship, and runs 2005 series champion Mike Forest in the second of its Atlantic cars. Last season's Pacific champion, Robert Podlesni, tested with the team during the off-season.
