Sylvain Guintoli sets unofficial marathon record as he raises huge sum for charity
Ex-MotoGP racer Sylvain Guintoli ran the London marathon in memory of his late son Luca in aid of a cancer charity

Ex-MotoGP racer and current TNT pundit Sylvain Guintoli set an unofficial record in the London marathon, having raised over £140,000 for a cancer charity.
Guintoli and his family suffered the tragic loss of his six-year-old son Luca last year to cancer.
In his memory, Guintoli entered the London marathon and tasked himself to complete it while wearing his full riding leathers to raise money for PASIC.
PASIC is a cancer charity that supports children with the illness and helps their families through the process.
Guintoli completed the London marathon on Sunday in a time of three hours, 47 minutes and 47 seconds.
That is an unofficial record for a runner in riding leathers.
In a brief post during TNT’s broadcast of the Spanish Grand Prix, the Frenchman said: “Hello guys. That’s it. The London marathon is wrapped up.
“I got my medal. I did it under four hours as well. I’m so happy. It was so hot, though. It was absolutely dehydrating.
“I loved it. The atmosphere was buzzing. I wanted to say a massive thank you to everybody at TNT, and also everybody who’s been donating.
“The fundraiser has gone absolutely mental, and it’s going to make such a difference for children with cancer. So, thanks again everybody.”
The fundraiser has now brought in over £140,000 in donations, smashing the target of £50,000 initially set.
