The Official Marc Marquez Fan Club has opened its new headquarters, in the double MotoGP champion's hometown of Cervera, Spain.

The club was launched in 2010, the year Marquez won his first title in the 125cc class, and was initially based in a hotel restaurant 200 metres from his house. By the end of the first year the club had 300 members and has now grown to over 1,700.

"I want to thank all who have made this possible," said Marquez. "It's fantastic that you can visit this exhibition with all these souvenirs of mine, and that the fans can see them, and that we have this new headquarters. The truth is that I was surprised, it's impressive and it's really beautiful."

Ramon Marquez, uncle of Marc and younger brother Alex, is the club's president.

"Today is a very special day for all of us as we have turned yet another dream into reality," he said. "From here we can unite all the followers of Marc and Alex, all the fans of motorbike riding, and they can check out whatever facts they wish about them, or become part of the fan club, get exclusive content or participate in the many events we will be organising in 2015."

Marc and Alex Marquez are the first brothers in history to both become grand prix world champions.
