Casey Stoner's next test in Barcelona

Casey Stoner will next be on track for Ducati during a MotoGP test in Barcelona.

The retired double world champion - who proved he has lost none of his speed by topping the opening day of official 2017 testing at Sepang - will ride at the Catalan Grand Prix venue following the French round at Le Mans (May 21).

Ducati told Crash.net that Stoner is expected to test on the Tuesday and Wednesday (May 23-24) alongside Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso, plus other MotoGP competitors. The test, which starts on the Monday, will also be the first chance to try the revised chicane layout at the end of the lap.

A day of official testing is being held at Jerez today (Monday) and, prior to Le Mans, Ducati will also hold a private test at Mugello with Lorenzo and Dovizioso.

The Italian Grand Prix takes place on June 4 and Catalunya round on June 11.
