Rain brings halt to Dutch TT at Assen

UPDATE: A 12-lap race is scheduled, with pit lane due to open at 13.55 BST. Grid will be based on positions when race was stopped, with Andrea Dovizioso on pole from Danilo Petrucci and Valentino Rossi. Jorge Lorenzo starts from back row in 19th place.

The Dutch TT at Assen has been red-flagged due to adverse weather conditions, with pouring rain lashing the Assen circuit.

The race was stopped on lap 15 with Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso leading on the last full completed lap (14) from Pramac Ducati's Danilo Petrucci and Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha).

Britain's Scott Redding was lying in fourth place on the second of the Pramac Ducati machines ahead of Repsol Honda pair Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa.

Yonny Hernandez had been clear at the front on the Aspar Ducati but ran into the gravel on lap 11 at turn 1 and was forced to pull into the pits and switch to his second bike.

A re-start is pending over 12 laps, depending on weather or not the weather conditions improve.

If the race does not go ahead, half-points will be awarded based on positions when the race was stopped initially.
