Waite on Bordernapolis: biggest and best line-up.

Berwick Bandits boss Peter Waite has announced an incredible line up of competitors for the club's prestigious individual championship, the Bordernapolis at Shielfield Park on Saturday October 11th at 7pm.

Berwick have in recent years presented some of the World's best speedway stars to grace the Shielfield shale, and 2003 will be no different with one Australia International, two of England's very best and two top-line Grand Prix stars from the 2003 World Championship chase.

Berwick Bandits boss Peter Waite has announced an incredible line up of competitors for the club's prestigious individual championship, the Bordernapolis at Shielfield Park on Saturday October 11th at 7pm.

Berwick have in recent years presented some of the World's best speedway stars to grace the Shielfield shale, and 2003 will be no different with one Australia International, two of England's very best and two top-line Grand Prix stars from the 2003 World Championship chase.

Joining the seven Bandits will be England's top Grand Prix rider, Scott Nichols from Elite League's Ipswich Witches. Nichols is currently 7th in the World and England's most realistic of World Champion in the near future.

Australia will be represented in the shape of another excellent World star from the Grand Prix series, Poole Pirate Leigh Adams who has had an superb year and is currently the Worlds 4th best rider and joint favourite with Nichols.

Along with Nichols and Adams Berwick are also delighted to play host to Elite League, Belle Vue high flyer, Joe Screen, described as the UK's most exciting rider around today and he'll be joined by a 4th Elite League rider, also from the Aces at Belle Vue, Australian Steve Johnston, who is a true entertainer and one of the last real characters left in speedway today.

Top Premier League rider Chris "Bomber" Harris from the Trelawny Tigers completes the field in which is the most talented and competitive field Berwick has seen assembled for many a long year. The event will see the following riders compete in 12 qualification heats (4 rides each) followed by semi- finals and a Grand Final for the Championship.

Promoter Peter Waite commented: "In my years as promoter this is the biggest and best line up I've seen at Berwick. We always want to reward our loyal supporters with something big to end the year and I think with this field we cannot have done better."

"It gives our lads the chance to show the World class riders that they can mix it with them too, and all the Bandits intend to be up there on the rostrum, to grab gold if they can, so the racing will be hot and heavy with some thrilling heats in prospect and some fast times too."
