Harris claims Bordernapolis.

The William Hill sponsored Bordernapolis produced a storming climax in the Grand Final with Premier League star and Trelawny Tiger Chris "Bomber" Harris proving why he's emerging as one of England's hottest prospects.

Having gone through twelve qualification heats Harris ended up on eleven points, one behind leader in the clubhouse, England International Joe Screen who proved to be a natural round Berwick's large circuit to remain unbeaten after his 4 rides, and he looked spectacular to boot.

Aussie superstar and currently World number four, Leigh Adams of the Poole Pirates had three blinding heat wins, but was a little ineffective in his second outing to finish on ten.

Adams and Screen sailed through the first semi-final at the expense of Berwick's Paul Bentley and Ipswich Witch, Scott Nicholls who struggled to get to grips with Shielfield Park all night. Harris qualified from the other semi-final along with in-form Berwick reserve Claus Kristensen seeing off the challenge of Australian and Belle Vue Ace, Steve Johnson and Berwick's Czech Josef Franc.

In the Final Harris made the gate to lead early on but Adams stormed round him. It looked for all intense and purposes that the race had been won, but no one told Harris who built up amazing speed as he positioned himself for an inside attempt on Adams.

His forcefulness paid off as in a thrilling couple of bends he roared under Adams on bend one and despite the World number four's attempts to power-up, it was Harris who regained control to lead the Grand Prix competitor to the flag to grab a famous and well deserved victory.

Promoter Peter Waite said afterwards, "It's been a superb night up here, from the quality of the field, the excellent support from William Hill (Greyhounds) and the superb support from the very large crowd who turned out to back our faith in them. As we got such excellent turn out and such great World class stars, I can guarantee next year the event will be even bigger and even better"
