The Oxford Silver Machine management are working at full steam to put together the team for the 2004 Elite League season following a hugely successful British Speedway PromotersAssociation AGM which was held last week.

Promoter Nigel Wagstaff was delighted with the main outcomes: "I am delighted that as well as keeping the existing eight teams in the Elite League we have increased our numbers to ten and I am confident that this number will increase further in 2005". The changes to the rules for next season have also been greeted with enthusiasm by the Oxford supremo: "The new grading system will ensure parity across all of the teams, including our newest members, and will also open up opportunities for younger riders to make the step up".

Wagstaff was also pleased with the changes to the tactical options open to the team manager: "The tactical changes will protect the reserves and second strings whilst the greater flexibility of where to place the middle three riders in the team will give the team managers a greater amount of flexibility".
