Fans' aid Finlow.

Following Rob Finlow's horrific injury at Newport last October whilst riding for Somerset Rebels, a group of the Rebels fans have rallied round with a collection for Rob and presented him with a laptop computer.

It transpires that Rob did not have a computer of his own and was beginning to lose touch with the news from the speedway world whilst at home recuperating from his injuries. On hearing this, a fund was started by one of the Rebel fans to be able to provide Rob with his own laptop and internet access.

"I wish to pass on my sincere thanks to the Somerset fans for the laptop." said Rob, when he was presented with it at his home earlier this week. "Their generosity is fantastic, especially given that I was only riding on loan for them last season. I really enjoyed my time racing for the Rebels, and certainly hope to be able to make it down to the Oak Tree Arena at the start of the season to personally thank the fans for this superb gesture. Being able to keep in touch with all the speedway news on the internet will certainly help pass the daytime hours whilst I'm not able to get out and about."

As far as Rob's injuries are concerned, he recently received the good news that the leg and foot injuries he sustained are healing better than anticipated, and that he will be able to have the frame and pins removed from his leg towards the end of the month.
