Academy points countdown.

The Silver Machine Academy need just eleven points to guarantee their first ever Conference League Title, and they have four home matches to do it in.

The first two are tonight (Monday) at Oxford Stadium, starting at 7pm. The first team on show will be the Armadale Devils who are travelling all of the way from Edinburgh for the clash. Oxford drew first blood in this contest and won by twelve points when they visited them in Scotland.

Next up is Boston, and again the Academy already have the advantage of winning in Norfolk by eight points. That means that two wins would give Oxford six points and leave them just five to get from their two remaining home ties.

Those final two meetings are against Newport and Weymouth. These are not such an easy proposition, although it was close the Silver Machine lost by one point at Weymouth and would need to make sure that they won by two points to get the bonus point.

The Newport match will be even tougher as they lost by 41 points when they went to Wales, and it is almost impossible to believe that they can get that bonus point. However, if all else goes well than that will not be necessary.

With the run in looking to be frantically close, the Silver Machine Academy need the support of their fans. Assistant Team Manager Robert Peasley: "The fans give all the team such a lift they could be the difference to the championship coming to Oxford, or not!"

As if that was not enough, the Silver Machine are also at Wolverhampton for their first away match in this years Craven Shield. All 3 teams are currently unbeaten at home however, Wolverhampton have picked up the first bonus point from Swindon last week. Therefore Oxford need to get the bonus point at Monmore Green tonight to keep their Craven Shield hopes alive.
