Scorpions awarded CL Pairs again.

After their successful running of the 2006 Conference League Pairs meeting the Scunthorpe Scorpions have been awarded the prestigious meeting once again for the 2007 season.

Whilst a date hasn't been set the Scorpions' will be hoping to emulate their 2006 win when Benji Compton and Paul Cooper defeated the Stoke pairing in the final.

After their successful running of the 2006 Conference League Pairs meeting the Scunthorpe Scorpions have been awarded the prestigious meeting once again for the 2007 season.

Whilst a date hasn't been set the Scorpions' will be hoping to emulate their 2006 win when Benji Compton and Paul Cooper defeated the Stoke pairing in the final.

That meeting very nearly didn't go ahead after a torrential downpour left the track covered in water just before the scheduled start time but a fantastic effort by Track Curator Graham Trollope and his team ensure the bumper crowd saw some exceptional racing. Hopefully the weather will be kinder for the 2007 meeting.

The other major Conference League meeting, the Conference League Fours, has been awarded to Plymouth, a track that is likely to see the Scorpions perform better than Stoke, where the event has been held during the Scorpions' first two seasons.
