Road Racing greats come to Scunthorpe

The Christmas Cracker Short Track meeting, to be raced at the Scunthorpe Raceway on Saturday 30th December, has added two more stars from the world of Road Racing.

Top of the list is 2003 World Super Bike Champion Neil Hodgson and he is joined by four-time British Superbike runner-up Chris Walker. The pair are joined by Steve Plater who recently won the Macau Grand Prix and the already declared Isle of Man TT legend John McGuinness.

Hodgson, who has just returned from racing in the American Superbike Championship, has been bitten by the bug to ride dirt track and will be taking up the challenge by riding one of the works CCMs whilst Walker, his great friend and rival, has just been signed to ride for Rizla Suzuki in the British Superbike Championship in 2007.

Also in the field are CCM rider and 2006 Shorttrack Champ Lee Complin, Supermoto ace and works Husaberg rider Andy Mitchell, Motocrosser Johnno White and Grasstrack star Jamie Rodgers. With a couple of speedway riders likely to join in the action the meeting has become a real clash of motorcycle sport aces.

With a Support Class of top notch Quad racers it should be real winter warmer of racing. Racing starts at 1.00 pm, admission ?8.50 Adult, ?6.00 OAP'S, Children 5 to 15 ?3.00 and under 5 Free, ?20.00 Family ticket (2 Adults, 2 children).
