Henrik Gustafsson will replace the injured Joe Screen in the FIM German Speedway Grand Prix, on Saturday 5th May.

Gustafsson will ride with No' 25 on his back but will be seeded 18 as a direct replacement to Joe Screen in the starting line-up. The Swedish rider had taken part in every Grand Prix in the current format since 1995, but just failed to qualify for the 2001 series through the Grand Prix Challenge last October. His best finish to date was a fifth in 1996.

"I was upset to hear about Joe because he's a great guy but I'm sure he'll wish me luck in the months ahead," said Henrik, about his unexpected Grand Prix ride. "I haven't had the best domestic season so far with Belle Vue but this could be just what I need to start flying again."

Joe Screen suffered a broken femur (thigh bone) in an Elite League meeting whilst riding for Eastbourne at King's Lynn on Wednesday evening.
