Great Britain international Paul Hurry looks set to remain with Wolverhampton speedway next season, despite receiving offers from rival teams.

Three other Elite League clubs have apparently made enquiries about Hurry's services for 2002, but Wolves appear more inclined to dispense with American veteran Sam Ermolenko, who was yesterday linked to a possible move to Peterborough.

Three other Elite League clubs have apparently made enquiries about Hurry's services for 2002, but Wolves appear more inclined to dispense with American veteran Sam Ermolenko, who was yesterday linked to a possible move to Peterborough.

Hurry is known to have impressed promoter Chris Van Straaten with his performances in 2001, and is now slated to line up alongside returnee Mikael Karlsson, Daniel Nermark and Peterborough loanee David Howe. Newport's Chris Neath is also rumoured to be joining the line-up which will be reshaped according to the new ruling on the inclusion of grand prix riders.

"I'm absolutely delighted to have two of the fans' favourites back with me next season," van Straaten admitted to the official BSPA website, "We have Mikael Karlsson, the fans' rider of the year, back with us and now we have Paul, the most exciting rider as voted by the supporters so it's great news."
