Fourth Reading rider revealed.

Phil Morris became the fourth rider to sign for Reading for next season, when he met with the Racers management this afternoon and agreed terms for the 2002 campaign.

Morris was delighted to get everything sorted out so quickly, and can now look forward to the festive period safe in the knowledge that he'll still be a Reading Racer next year.

The Welshman is due to enter hospital for an operation on his troublesome knee in early January next year, but with just a four week recovery period, he'll be fully fit in time for the new campaign starting in March.

He has also been named Reading captain for the third season running.

Morris joins the list of riders already signed up for the Racers, namely: Tomas Topinka, Brendon Mackay and Dave Mullett. With Morris coming in on a 8.23 average this will leave 16.63 points left for the remaining three riders.

On the subject of the remaining riders: Jason Bunyan is still having contract talks with the club. Although no deal has been clinched as yet, Reading are still confident of getting their man.

Paul Clews and Chris Schramm are also expected to begin talks very soon, which if successful will complete the Racers full line-up for next season.
