Morris and Mullett back for the Racers next week?

Reading can expect to have the bulk of their injured rider's back for the crunch Premier Trophy semi-final ties, next week against Trelawny Tigers.

Skipper Phil Morris crashed out in Sunday's home defeat against Isle of Wight. Morris was taken to hospital complaining of chest and lower back pains. X-Rays revealed no broken bones, but just bruising and some slight internal damage.

The Welshman returned to track action on Tuesday night in Sweden, scoring a 5-ride paid maximum.

The other injured heat-leader Dave Mullett, who was forced to pull out of the Islanders match with a swollen hand sustained in an accident at home, is also expected to return against Trelawny.

Injured reserves Chris Schramm and Brendon Mackay still face a few more weeks on the sideline's. Racers have again called up Conference League rider Gavin Hedge from Mildenhall, to guest in both leg's of the semi-final against the Tigers.

Trelawny have their own injury problems. Top rider Chris Harris is out with a scaphoid injury, so will be looking for a guest to stand in for the talented youngster.

One other change is the re-shuffling of the pack to bring in the experienced Alun Rossiter to replace Seemond Stephens, who is out with a hand injury.

Meanwhile Reading's Jason Bunyan is busy again with another Elite League guest booking.

Bunyan has been called up to ride for Ipswich in their match against Eastbourne Eagles this Saturday evening.

The Racer will be trying out a new engine, which ace-tuner Barry Allaway has been developing for him.

Bunyan said, "This gives me a good chance to try out this new engine, it will be a good test."
