Trelawny boosted with news of extended lease.

Trelawny have secured a one-year extension of their lease to run speedway at the Clay Country Moto Parc. That means the JAG Tigers are now set for a third year of Premier League racing in 2003.

Promoter Godfrey Spargo announced the good news for speedway fans in the Duchy following a meeting with site owners Imerys. He said: "We are very grateful to Imerys and thank them for all the help and support they have given us in the past and for allowing us to stay at the Moto Parc for another season. That will give us twelve months to pursue alternative venues for speedway racing."

Reaching an agreement with Imerys will enable the Trelawny promotion to give the necessary declaration of intent to run in 2003, which has to be lodged with the speedway authorities in November. Spargo would not be drawn on the subject of alternative venues, but confirmed that it was the intention of the Trelawny management to continue with Premier League racing next season.
