Richardson, who has bagged paid 77 points in Coventry's last five meetings, has won a call up as a wild-card after securing his place in next year's Grand Prix series by winning the recent World Championship Qualifying final in Poland.

Richardson, who reached the semi-finals of this year's British Grand Prix at Cardiff as a wild-card entry, said: "I had to do something this season after my illness in the last two years, and I feel I have stepped up another gear.

"The pressure was on me to get into the Grand Prix and now I have done that, it is as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I was determined to get into the Grand Prix and I am looking forward to next year, added Richardson. "I was a little bit surprised to get the telephone call offering me the wild-card at this weekend's Grand Prix in Poland, but I couldn't turn it down. It's another great chance for me."

The top 10 finishers in this year's series automatically re-qualify for next season, and Hamill starts Saturday in 10th place on 62 points. Jonsson is 12th on 50 points.
