For that phone call confirmed that a work permit had been issued for a young rider "Waggy" had been in secret negotiations with to bring into the Knights septet to replace the departed Roman Povazhny, who was on loan to King's Lynn from Eastbourne.

For that phone call confirmed that a work permit had been issued for a young rider "Waggy" had been in secret negotiations with to bring into the Knights septet to replace the departed Roman Povazhny, who was on loan to King's Lynn from Eastbourne.

And that rider coming in to replace the Russian is 19 years old Polish starlet Lukasz Jankowski who rides for Leszno along with Knight Sebastian Ulamek.

It was the latter who recommended Lukasz to the club after negotiations to sign a Swedish rider hit snags.

The Knights latest signing, who makes his debut in tonight's (Wednesday's) home match against Peterborough at the Norfolk Arena, has a fine speedway pedigree being the son of Ex-Hackney rider Roman Jankowski who has made the journey over to England with him.
