Wolverhampton are the new Sky Sports Elite League champions after a thrilling play-off final at Eastbourne. The Eagles won on the night 46-44 but that was enough for Wolves to win by six-points on aggregate.

Joint skipper Peter Karlsson said: "We are a good team and we were always going to be able to defend our lead - and we did. To win the league is a
great feeling."

Meanwhile, Eastbourne's Mark Loram took defeat on the chin after losing their grip on the Sky Sports Elite League title. The Eagles finished top of the league but lost to Wolves in the Grand Final.

Loram said: "We're gutted but we were beaten fair and square and it's no good moaning about it. We lost the first leg at Wolverhampton and that didn't help us, everyone tried their best."
