Collins spent last season with Somerset and is likely to start the season outside Hull's top three with a new heat-leader expected by next Wednesday.

"Neil will be a solid and reliable member of the team and his points will be very important to us," said Team Manager John Bailey. "Thorpy is just a hero with everyone at Hull and he is still one of the top performers in the Premier League."

Hull's search for a reserve rider will take a step forward at Buxton this Saturday, December 14, when they will hold a scouting session with six different riders looking to win a contract. Fans are invited to attend the test.
