Current hot prospect Edward Kennett safely negotiated his way through as did Oliver Allen. The only British rider to miss out on automatic qualification was Aidan Collins. He goes through as a reserve after losing a run-off with Australian Rory Schlein for eigth place.

Lukasz Romanek was the other qualifier. He took a little time to get going but once he did he won his last two rides to be safely through noteably defeating Harris and Stead in the process.

The draw for the semi-finals of the championship (at Abensberg, Gernany and Ljubljana, Slovenia) is due to be made shortly.
