The Edinburgh Monarchs continue their quest for Premier League glory as they take on the Reading Racers at Armadale this Friday (7.30). Frede Schott will not be fit for Monarchs so King's Lynn's Shane Parker stands in.

For Reading, their season has been transformed by the introduction of young Polish rider Janusz Kolodziej who has performed brilliantly for them. With Garry Stead guesting for the injured Phil Morris, the Racers will not be an easy hurdle for Monarchs.

Schott isn't the only injured Monarch. Peter Carr and Rory Schlein may not be 100% fit they are at least back racing, with Carr even accepting an extra booking to help Glasgow out on Sunday.

Reading have not had a great season, with injuries and some poor results to contend with, but for their trip north this week they have as strong a lineup as they have had all season. This is partly due to the introduction of Janusz Kolodziej who has made such an impact, but also the inclusion of Garry Stead as a guest replacement for Phil Morris suggests that the Racers mean business this weekend.
