WSS: Huge Jones accident stops race.

The Brands Hatch World Supersport race has been called with seven laps remaining after Craig Jones suffered a horrific accident whilst disputing the lead of his home race.

TV images appeared to show Jones losing the back end of his Parkalgar Honda exiting the super-fast final corner at Clearways, sending him into a violent high-side and seemingly knocking him unconscious.

The Brands Hatch World Supersport race has been called with seven laps remaining after Craig Jones suffered a horrific accident whilst disputing the lead of his home race.

TV images appeared to show Jones losing the back end of his Parkalgar Honda exiting the super-fast final corner at Clearways, sending him into a violent high-side and seemingly knocking him unconscious.

Jones is currently being attended to by paramedics, who were immediately on the scene and is reported to have regained consciousness.

The race was called immediately after the accident, with Jonathan Rea claiming victory in front of him home fans and Jones being classified as second. Rea and Jones were in the midst of a thrilling battle when the incident occurred.

Championship leader Andrew Pitt claimed third place.

The original race was stopped after rain began falling eight laps in, leading to an aggregate result.
