Toprak Razgatlioglu has followed up his first World Superbike win by topping warm-up ahead of Jonathan Rea and Chaz Davies with the trio of front-runners split by just one-tenth of a second.

The Puccetti Kawasaki rider won a final-lap fight against Rea to take a maiden victory in Race 1 at Magny-Cours and edged out the reigning World Superbike champion again in the short 15-minute warm-up session thanks to a late lap of 1m 37.613s to see off the factory Kawasaki rider by 0.092s.

Despite a mid-race fall in yesterday’s opener, Davies demonstrated impressive pace on the Aruba.it Racing Ducati to take third place in the session – exactly one-tenth off Razgatlioglu – with the front three comfortably clear of the chasing pack.

Michael van der Mark will also hope to make amends for a Race 1 fall, as the Dutch rider went down while leading with three laps to go, as he took fourth place in warm-up ahead of Pata Yamaha team-mate Alex Lowes.

Alvaro Bautista could only manage sixth place in warm-up as he saw the title deficit swell to 100 points yesterday, as Tom Sykes claimed seventh in warm-up following his podium for BMW in Race 1.

With Marco Melandri in eighth for GRT Yamaha, Markus Reiterberger (BMW) and Loris Baz (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) rounded out the top 10.

That meant Sandro Cortese just missed out in 11th place for GRT Yamaha but ahead of Leandro Mercado on the Orelac Kawasaki and Michael Ruben Rinaldi on the Barni Ducati.

Leon Haslam endured a low-key warm-up following his fall in Race 1 with 14th place, 1.7s off the pace, but in front of Leon Camier on the Moriwaki Althea Honda.

With Eugene Laverty in 16th place for Team Goeleven Ducati, Jordi Torres continued to struggled at the French circuit with Pedercini Kawasaki as Alessandro Delbianco (Althea Honda), Ryuichi Kiyonari (Moriwaki Althea Honda) and wildcard Sylvain Barrier (Brixx Ducati) completed the timesheet.
