Former MotoGP podium finisher Jonas Folger concludes ‘three difficult days’ of testing in Aragon ahead of his rookie WorldSBK season.
Folger: We still have some catching up to do for the first race

Jonas Folger completes his final WorldSBK pre-season test of 2021 at Aragon alongside fellow BMW riders Tom Sykes, Michael Van Der Mark and Eugene Laverty.

The former Monster Yamaha Tech 3 MotoGP rider will make his debut in the WorldSBK series in two weeks time at Aragon, but says there is ‘still some catching up’ to be done.

The German rider was part of a ten rider test that saw Jonathan Rea end up quickest, while Folger was ninth with only Isaac Vinales going slower.

Speaking after the three day test, Folger said: "In my opinion, this test passed a bit too quickly. We experienced three difficult days here in Aragón.

"Unfortunately, we did not make the progress we had actually imagined although we tried a lot of different things, which was also important. Yet, we still have some catching up to do in terms of preparation for the first race, so it will be extremely exciting when we come back here in two weeks' time.

"Until then, we have to analyze all the data carefully and compare it with the other teams to see if they found anything or did something differently in order to be more efficient.

"We have been looking feverishly for it, but unfortunately have not found the right way for this circuit yet.

"But we cannot let this test upset us, but as I said we have got to take a close look again and start refreshed on the first race weekend."

Although Folger struggled during the MotorLand Aragon test, there remain positives to take if we look at his past form at the Teruel venue. The 27 year-old has taken best results of third in Moto3 (2012), and fourth in Moto2 (2015).
