Zanetti dedicates win to Andrea Antonelli

Lorenzo Zanetti has dedicated his first World Supersport Championship victory to the late Andrea Antonelli after breaking his duck on home soil in Imola.

Sporting a helmet in tribute of Ayrton Senna, who died at Imola 20 years ago on May 1st, Zanetti was in good form throughout the weekend and would find himself in the correct place when Kenan Sofuoglu retired ahead of him.

Leading a PATA Honda 1-2, a thrilled Zanetti went on to dedicated his victory to countryman Antonelli, who died after a collision that involved Zanetti at the Moscow Raceway last year.

"It's been an amazing weekend and it's fantastic to win at my home race. I don't have many words, but I want to thank everybody for all their work. I thought from Friday that I might be able to win, but I was under a lot of pressure for the race because it was my home race, and the sponsors' home race!

"I was able to stay with Kenan [Sofuoglu] but after he pulled in I won the race and I want to dedicate the victory to Andrea Antonelli. This is for him."
