Buildbase Kawasaki began its preparations for the 2010 MCE British Superbike Championship by testing at Cartagena with revised rider line-up John Laverty and Adam Jenkinson.

Organised by official race suspension partner Bitubo, Laverty spent the test getting reacquainted with the ZX-10R he rode to tenth position during the 2009 season, while Jenkinson completed his first laps with the team since joining from the Superstock ranks.

Laverty also got the chance to test new parts from Cosworth engines, Pectel electronics and new forks from Bitubo, the former Superbike Cup champion impressed with the bike's base setting.

"It has been a big bonus being able to test abroad this year, all the new parts we tested were an improvement over 2009 and we now have a really good base setting in which to start the season with. Many thanks to all the guys who worked really hard and I look forward to further testing in the UK before Brands Hatch."

Jenkinson, meanwhile, was pleased to get some laps under his belt as he looks ahead to restarting his British Superbike career, two years after a nasty first round accident ruled him out of action for a year.

"It's great to back out on the bike again, I concentrated on getting as many laps as possible before starting to test the new ideas but already we can tell that the new Bitubo fork is further enhanced than 2009."
