American Jake Zemke is to ride for the WFR Honda team from the forthcoming Knockhill round of the British Superbike Championship.

The former AMA SBK star will take the seat vacated by Alex Lowes, alongside Glen Richards and Graeme Gowland, in the EVO-class squad.

"I'm delighted to be coming to the UK at last and starting the next chapter of my career," said Zemke. "I have always been an admirer of BSB and have wanted to race here for quite some time so I would like to thank Team WFR who have made that dream a reality.

"I'm looking forward to getting stuck in to their exciting EVO project at Knockhill and racing against some of the best riders in the world at the remaining rounds of the season."

"Jake will fly in at the weekend and we have arranged a day of testing for him later that week so that he can meet the rest of the team and get some time on the bike before heading straight to Knockhill," added team manager Myles Schofield.

Zemke, who qualified on pole (and finished third) in this year's Daytona 200, last raced outside of America as a stand-in for Stiggy Honda in the 2009 Monza WSBK round. He has never previously raced in the UK.
