Tom Grant will make his return to the MCE British Superbike Championship for the Quattro Plant Kawasaki team at Cadwell Park this weekend.

Grant was thrilled to be offered the chance by the Liverpool-based team to join Karl Harris for the Bank Holiday meeting at the Lincolnshire circuit.

He has previous experience at British championship level in the Supersport and Superbike classes, but hasn't ridden a Superbike in four years.

Grant completed a number of laps on the Kawasaki ZX-10 at Cadwell yesterday prior to this weekend's BSB round and is delighted to be back in action after sitting out last season.

"I would like to thank Quattro Plant Kawasaki and my sponsors for this opportunity, he said.

"It has been four years since riding a Superbike, so it is a real opportunity to push for my place on the grid.

"My last competitive ride was Brands Hatch in 2010 on a Supersport machine, but since then I have continued to train hard and keep sharp by riding my motocross bike around work commitments," he added.

"The session was all about easing me back on to a bike and it feels good and handles well.

"I am really excited about this weekend and I can't wait to be out there."

Quattro Plant Kawasaki's John Jameson added: "The feedback from Tom's session has been very positive and we are pleased to offer him a ride at Cadwell Park.

"Working with Karl, I believe we will have a good round and hopefully, we will have both riders finish in the points at the end of the Bank Holiday weekend racing."

Quattro Plant Kawasaki began the season with Freddie Foray and Gary Mason, but Mason left the team after four rounds, while his replacement Mark Aitchison competed for one event before switching to Splitlath Redmond Aprilia.

Former Endurance World champion Foray parted company from the team earlier this month.
