Willerton takes Ducati Monster S4 Challenge pole.

Lincolnshires Karl Willerton took pole position in qualifying today for this weekends round 2 of the Ducati Monster S4 Challenge at the Snetterton race circuit in Norfolk.

Setting a fastest lap time of 1m 15.922s, the retained firefighter from Horncastle steadily improved through the session, completing a faster time by 0.067 of a second than second quickest and current championship leader Juan Kinnish in the final minutes.

An upbeat Willerton commented: "I knew early on that I was running around sixth place and that some improvement was needed. The bike was running well and towards the end I was up to second quickest, so I just pushed harder."

Kinnish finished only fractionally behind Willerton with a qualifying time of 1m 15.989a, and was happy enough with his time to finish his session early.

Completing the front row for tomorrows race is Gary Byrne from Pinner in third who managed to knock round one's podium finisher Duncan Burns off third spot on the grid on the last lap of the session.
